We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
Parent Information
The Compass Parent Portal is our main form of communication. Upon a student’s commencement at St Michael’s Catholic Primary School Lane Cove, parents receive Compass login details. Further communication with parents/carers can take place through our weekly newsletter known as the Michaelian, emails with staff, informal and formal meetings with teachers, weekly assemblies and other school events. Parents are able to submit and explain student absences through Compass. Extended leave [10 days or over] must be approved by the principal you are required to complete an Application for Extended Leave.
We highly value our parent community and the support it provides, therefore, it is of great importance to us that we work together in partnership with all of our families. The Sydney Catholic Schools Parent Charter outlines the importance of communication in this partnership. St Michael’s also has a Parent Engagement Model.
